T-Minus -1 Days...

Hello students-

Just checking in prior to leaving when J.J. Kearney finally decides its time to make her way into this world.  She's already 1 day late, and I'm sure she's not interested in going anywhere fast.

Just a few reminders/helpful hints for when I am out:

1.  Notes Walk Throughs are available in two places.  The first is Google Drive.  To open these files you need to follow these steps.
     -  Open Explain Everything
     -  Choose to upload a New Project from File or Images (it is the second icon on the top left- looks like a notebook paper with a plus sign)
     -  Choose GDrive
     -  Go into the "Math Eagles" folder
     -  Go into the "Notes Walk Throughs" folder
     -  Choose the Notes Walk Through you wish to watch and open in Explain Everything

You can also find Notes Walk Throughs on my website under the "Notes" tab.  The drawback is these are YouTube versions and sometimes due to their length YouTube does not allow them to play.


2.  There are several "How to" videos on various topics.  To see which "How to" Videos are available please visit the "How to" Videos folder in Google Drive, or the "How to" Videos tab under "Notes" on my website.  You can open in Explain Everything using the same steps listed above (You would need to go into the "How to" folder and not the "Notes Walk Through") or view the YouTube videos.  The Explain Everything versions let you decide which specific type of problem you want to see and you can jump to that slide and watch only that part of the video.


3.  Blank study guides and Study guide answer keys are always available on my website and should be used prior to every assessment.  Make sure you aren't just trying to get by without doing study guides or checking answers!  Every little bit helps!


This week A period has a quiz on 2.5 (Distributive property) and E period has a mini-quiz on lines/angles/triangles.  B and D Period's next assessment is the chapter 3 test, which is next Tuesday, 10/20.  Progress reports are due for teachers on Monday morning, so any corrections, or retakes should be done by Friday 10/16 to ensure Ms. Henry or I can get the grade entered for you!

New "How To" videos uploaded to Google Drive!

Calling all Eagles math students!

I just added two new "How to" videos in Google Drive - Math Eagles - "How To Videos" folder.  The first is a 17-slide tutorial on how to solve all different types of equations: 1-step, 2-step, and more!

The second  is a quick video about how to apply the distributive property and combine like terms! Check it out!

Updated Chapter 5 SlideShark!

A and B math students-  the Chapter 5 SlideShark has been updated to include how to write an equation in standard form.  Also broken links have been fixed.  If you delete the current one from your SlideShark App and then re-download, you should have access to the complete PowerPoint Guide.
